“I am pleased that the landmark Taurus Downtown Technopark project is marking a major milestone today with the signing of the Framework Agreement between Taurus and Technopark. I understand that the project will not only create over 25,000 direct employment opportunities when fully commissioned but that it will also bring truly world-class social infrastructure to Technopark, and provide a crucial impetus for Trivandrum to compete with leading cities like Bangalore and Gurgaon in terms of attracting the best talent and the top employers.
As the Member of Parliament for Thiruvananthapuram, I am very happy to have played a part in ensuring that a global firm like Taurus chose our city to make their first investment in India. I express my sincere thanks to my friend and Chairman of Taurus, Prof. Lorenz Reibling, and to the Government of Kerala, under the able leadership of the Hon. Chief Minister Shri. Oommen Chandy and the Hon. Minister for IT Shri. P K Kunhalikutty, for making this possible. We have had good support, indeed excellent support, from one of our own city residents now working for Taurus, Shri. Ajay Prasad and I thank him in particular for his deep involvement in this venture. Let me also take this opportunity to wish all the very best to this endeavor.
